SHOOTING: Why we love it here

| January 2, 2013 8:00 PM

Many of us are grieving with the staff and families of Sandy Hook Elementary. It happened to my profession and our kids. Each day it becomes a little bit clearer about what took place and so our grief grows a little bit deeper.

This has hit us hard. There are lots of conversations going on to see what we can do to protect our kids and make our schools safer. At the same time that this is all going on, I do know that this is a very caring community. I have no doubt that if I ever did have to call for help, it would be answered.

On the way to work, I saw eight people digging a girl out who slid off the road. There were two more men running with shovels. I looked at my husband and said that’s why I love it here.

Let us come together to help comfort one another. Let something go to spend time with a loved one or friend. Don’t put it off. Spread a little love, joy and peace in honor of those who lost their lives.

Happy Winter Break! Happy New Year!
