NRA: Back up words with cash

| January 2, 2013 8:00 PM

Note to NRA: You have stated that you absolutely would not even consider any kind of regulation regarding restrictions on high power assault or military weapons or ammunition clips that hold hundreds of bullets.

And since every legislator in both state and federal offices is bought and paid for by the NRA, which is the biggest lobby in the world, not much will happen on this matter.

The NRA states that we need an armed officer in every school. That we need to control violent games and movies. That we need more mental health help. That we need to prosecute felons caught with guns.

Dear NRA, are you willing to put your money where your mouth is? Instead of the billions of dollars you spend buying off our legislators, will you put that money into the programs you keep saying will really help control our crime and gun death rates?

There is no school district in the country that could afford an armed guard on every campus. If the NRA feels so strongly about this, then please offer to pay for it.

Please let the NRA know how you want the billions you give them with your yearly dues to be spent — on legislators or on real programs that will help all Americans.
