Fake $100 bill passed at Jack in the Box

COEUR d'ALENE - Coeur d'Alene police say a counterfeit $100 bill was passed at the Coeur d'Alene Jack in the Box restaurant about 5 p.m. Friday.

The manager of the restaurant said a man entered the place, ordered $2.25 in food, and paid with a $100 bill. After collecting $97.75 in change, the man left the restaurant located at 196 W. Ironwood Drive.

A store manager found the man's bag of food and asked employees why it was sitting on the counter.

The manager removed the $100 bill from the till and determined it was a fake.

The bill and the man's receipt were provided to police, who also reviewed the restaurant surveillance camera footage.
