HAYDEN - A 47-year-old Hayden man Saturday evening was arrested for aggravated assault after allegedly pulling two knives on his female roommate.

David W. Busch's roommate told Kootenai County Sheriff's Department deputies that Busch was drunk and the apartment they were sharing was a mess when she came home about 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

"(The roommate) said Busch is easily angered when he is drinking, and he was becoming more agitated as (she) spoke to him about the mess inside of the residence," according to an incident report.

She told him he needed to move out of the apartment, located on the 700 block of east Shiloh Loop.

She then walked into her bedroom and Busch followed.

"(She) said she observed Busch had two opened knives in his hands, and was holding them in a 'stabbing grip,' blades pointed down," the report said. "(She) said Busch told her that he was going to 'terminate' her while holding the knives, and standing in the bedroom with her."

She managed to exit the apartment unharmed, and was soon interviewed by deputies outside.

"(The roommate) said Busch doesn't usually act this way, but she believed he was not thinking clearly due to his level of intoxication," the report said.

Busch declined to exit the apartment to speak with deputies, who requested he come outside for questioning.

Deputies then entered the apartment and found Busch on a bed in a room where investigators also found three pocket knives.
