Kermit Flodin, 77
Kermit Flodin was born on Nov. 24, 1935, in the back seat of his uncle’s car somewhere between Troy and Deary, Idaho, to Elmer and Lucille (Lindberg) Flodin. He passed away Monday Feb. 25, 2013.
Raised on the family farm near Troy, where he lived until graduating in 1955, Kermit worked for various farmers during his school years and after graduating worked on a farm near Connell, Wash.
That fall he started driving a logging truck for Jack Gould and spent the next few years logging at P.F.I.’s Spike and CampX.
In 1963, Kermit bought his own logging truck and spent the next 50 years hauling logs in most of the western states and Alaska.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Gail (Messinger), of Rathdrum; sisters Eunice (Glen) Meredith, Worley, Marilyn (Jim) Kimberling, Colton, Helen (Dave) Peterson, Moscow; brothers Dick (Carolyn), Genesee, Art (Nancy), Genesee, Ernest, Troy; uncle and aunt Calvin and Nina Lindberg, Deary; sisters-in-law Pat, Genesee, and Peggy, Colton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kermit was one of the good guys. He loved his outdoors, driving trucks, and dearly loved his dogs, especially the infamous Bark Bark.
Services will be held at Short’s Funeral Home, in Moscow, Idaho, at 11 a.m. March 2, 2013. A pot luck will be held at the Lutheran church in Troy after the services. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice of North Idaho.
