Cardinals take two from Wildcats

CARSON CITY, Nev. - Kelsey LaVaute hit a two-run triple in the first inning of the first game and homered in the second game as the North Idaho College Cardinals softball team swept a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader against the Western Nevada Wildcats 10-0 and 11-2 on Wednesday.

Emily Perlich pitched a complete game two-hitter for NIC in the first game.

In the second game, Shelby Carter hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Heather Bishop hit a two-run single in a six-run third inning for NIC (6-15, 3-11 SWAC), which is off until hosting Southern Idaho on March 8 at Memorial Field in Coeur d'Alene.
