BULLIED: Where can mother turn?

| February 27, 2013 9:47 PM

I am the mother of a 9-year-old boy who attends Fernan Elementary School. For months he has been picked on and bullied from a child in his class. I have followed protocol and continued to talk to staff at the school regarding everything that was happening to my son. Despite my best efforts, nothing was done.

On Friday the child threatened to get a metal bat and smash my son’s brains and kicked him in privates. My son fought back and he was suspended. The school has made my son feel unsafe and like it was his fault. I keep trying to get someone to do something about this and no one will help me.

My son won’t go to recess because he is scared. As a mother trying to protect my child, what is the next step I can take to ensure my son’s safety?
