Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area is partnering with KREM and Second Harvest Foods of Spokane for a free day of skiing today for those who donate three cans of food to the Kellogg Food Bank and Real Life Ministries Food Bank.
Last year's free ski day food drive yielded 4,901 pounds, but even more would be welcomed as Real Life's Food Bank has seen a 25 percent increase of people signing up to receive food boxes, according to Mia Howard of Real Life Ministries.
"This is the fourth year that we have been involved in this food drive, and it has helped to feed several people with the senior citizens being hit hardest last year," Howard said.
