Scouts' honor in peril

I am so angry and frustrated at the people running this country and its PC attitude. We have a verified Arab terrorist who killed 13 and wounded 29 at Fort Hood, Texas, yet we're reprimanded to term it "workplace violence."

We now have Rep. John Conyers in Washington saying we should no longer call illegal immigrants exactly what they are, but should now embellish it by calling them "out of status" or "new Americans."

Feminists say I should have no control over what they decide to do to their bodies and unborn children yet I am expected to bear 100 percent of the financial responsibility for their actions. Obama expresses his sadness over the children slain in Connecticut but fully endorses abortion that kills tens of thousands of children every year. Blacks and women claim they are at war with conservatives who oppose abortion, yet no other facet of our society claims more humans from both demographics than abortion.

Liberal media make it all but impossible to get an unbiased report on contentious issues, especially any having to do with the government or its policies. A pragmatic viewpoint would make even the most politically naive person realize our media is already "state run." If it wasn't for the Internet a lot of current news and events would go completely unreported.

Now the Boy Scouts of America is being leveraged by a minority group with "alternative sexual preferences." Several large corporations have already suspended giving to the BSA because they are no longer considered Politically Correct, with many more promising to do so if they do not overturn its ban on allowing homosexuals into its organization. Now Obama throws his weight into the argument endorsing the gay position that furthers his liberal agenda. This is an organization that for over 100 years has been building character of thousands of young men across the country and the world.

I am sick and tired of seeing flaming drag queens in gay pride parades thrown into my living room on TV from movies, the news and documentaries. I am tired of Hollywood both glamorizing and normalizing it as mainstream through stupid sitcoms like "Modern Family," "Partners" and "The New Normal." The fact is they are a small minority dictating how everyone else should live and most in this PC run amok world are only too happy to let "this tail wag the dog" for fear of offending someone.

The Boy Scout Promise has in its content the phrase "physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight." Couch the gay issue any way you will, but the BSA is a faith-based organization (the 12th provision in the BSA Law is reverent) and the Bible absolutely condemns homosexuality. I received my Eagle Scout award several years ago along with being a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. If they acquiesce and change their stance on this issue all my BSA memorabilia (including my Eagle Scout badge) will be headed for the fire-pit as it will have lost any significance to me after all this time.

You may want to categorize me as an angry conservative but one day, maybe not too far in the future, we will all look back and wonder where did we as a country go wrong? Where did our morals go? Why did our scruples vanish? Why and how did a country that was once the standard bearer that the rest of the world admired find it destitute and wallowing in chaos and poverty... except for an elite few?

Maybe we won't be able to point to one specific action as the cause but the long-term moral decay brought on by our current society will certainly be looked at as a main contributing factor.
