COEUR d'ALENE - Enjoy an entertaining evening while raising money to benefit elk and other wildlife habitat at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's Big Game Banquet and fundraiser auction slated for March 23 at The Best Western Coeur d'Alene Inn.

Activities include a live auction, silent auction, raffles and games.

The doors open at 4:30 p.m. for games and socializing, with dinner at 6:30 followed by a live auction for firearms, art, collectibles and more.

"We promise a great time for a great cause," said Kyle Koski of Post Falls, who chairs the local committee of 22 volunteers to host the annual event. "This is the 24th annual banquet that we've hosted here in Coeur d'Alene, and we're proud of our continuing support for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's conservation work across the country."

Ticket prices are $70 per person, $105 per couple, and $645 for a sponsor table of eight.

Current RMEF members can purchase a meal only for $35. Each single and couple ticket includes one annual membership to the RMEF and a Bugle magazine subscription from the conservation organization.

Additionally, one Buck Paklite Caper Knife by Buck Knives with a retail value of $32 is included with each new or renewed membership attending the banquet.

Auctions, raffles and other games are always a popular highlight at Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation events.

Prizes include a 2013 Banquet Edition Knife by Browning. Canvas Wall Tent and Frame, Gun Safe, .22 Ladies Sig Sauer Pistol and an African safari hunt.

Since 1984, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has conserved more than 6 million acres of prime elk country, opened more than 650,000 acres of previously off-limits land to public access, helped restore elk to six states, and stood strong for America's great hunting heritage.

In Idaho, RMEF and its partners have completed 425 conservation and hunting heritage outreach projects with a combined value of more than $52 million. Idaho currently has 16 RMEF chapters with 6,713 members.
