| February 20, 2013 8:00 PM

LEWISTON - Three players scored in double figures off the bench as the fourth-seeded Post Falls Trojans eliminated the second-seeded Lewiston Bengals 52-36 in a 5A Region 1 tournament loser-out game Tuesday night at Booth Hall.

Keaton Corr scored 12 points, Nick Hall 11 and Matt Hillman 10 for Post Falls (8-14), which travels to Coeur d'Alene on Thursday in a loser-out game at 7 p.m.

"I was very pleased with how we played tonight," Post Falls coach Mike McLean said. "The nice thing about tonight was Nick had 11 off the bench. Joey (Pfennigs), while he didn't score, gave us some big minutes on (Sam) Heitzman and held him to five points. I'm very happy and feel fortunate with how we played. Coach (Brian) Carlson noticed something on film and we stepped it up tonight. Defensively, we played phenomenal tonight and did what we had to do. To hold them to 15 points in the second half was what we wanted to do."

Reece Jackson had six rebounds and three steals for Post Falls. Rafa Hewett-Steiger scored 16 points for Lewiston, which finishes 6-16.

RATHDRUM — Randy McCabe scored 14 points as the Hawks hit six 3-pointers in the first half on the way to a victory over the Bulldogs in a loser-out game in the 4A Region 1 tournament at Hawk Court.

“We shot the ball really well in the first half,” Lakeland assistant coach Bill Ryan said. “The 3-pointers were by five different guys and we hit as many 2s as we did 3s in the first half.”

Lakeland (12-11) travels to Moscow (15-5) on Thursday at 7 p.m. for the Region 1 championship game. If Lakeland wins, the Hawks will travel to Moscow again on Friday with that winner advancing to the state tournament next week at Borah High in Boise.

“Our defense was pretty good and held them to five field goals in the first half,” Ryan said. “We just came out and played defense really hard.”
