COYOTES: Take toll on good dog

The other day a very good friend of mine’s beloved yellow lab was viciously attacked by one or more coyotes, we are not sure. He sustained severe injuries trying to defend his home. He had to have surgery, which cost my dear friends $500.

It’s not so much the cost, as he is a valued family member. He is about 8 years old and has a lot of fight left in him, so we hope the other “guy” looked worse. My point is this: This happened on their own property in Post Falls! I fear the next time this happens, the coyotes might succeed in killing one of our precious pets, or quite possibly an innocent child. I just wanted to put the word out that this happened in the vicinity of West Fisher Ave in Post Falls. Please be very vigilant in watching your pets and children in this area. In all the years my friends have lived here, that has never happened nor have they spotted even one coyote, so they are very prolific, it seems. Let’s stick together on this and if any more are spotted, please let “your” neighbor know along with Animal Control.
