Great Falls basketball

Legel, a freshman guard from Coeur d'Alene High, was named the Frontier Conference women's player of the week for the second straight week after leading the Argos (14-14) to a win over No. 25 Carroll College 66-60 last Thursday in Great Falls, Mont. Legel scored 23 points and had two rebounds and five assists against Carroll, and for the week averaged 16 points, two rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Air Force track and field

Bauman, a junior from Post Falls High, won the women's weight throw with a toss of 55 feet, 5 3/4 inches on Saturday at the Colorado School of Mines Invitational in Golden, Colo. She will compete next at the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships in Nampa this weekend, where she'll compete in the weight throw on Friday and shot put on Saturday.

Lewis-Clark State cross country

Wimpenny, a sophomore from Post Falls High, was named to the academic All Frontier Conference team. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in standing, maintaining a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled at school for the previous two semesters.
