Bill Thompson, 89

Beloved husband and father, Bill Clifton Thompson, of Coeur d’Alene, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Feb. 17, 2013. He was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Locust Grove, Okla., to Limuel and Lula (Condit) Thompson.

Bill set off on his own at the young age of 14 and worked in farming. He was drafted and served our country in World War II, stationed in the Philippines Islands. After serving his country he came home to marry the love of his life, Allene. He was able to celebrate their 65th anniversary on Feb. 9, 2013. He was a proud father and raised three children.

After serving with the U.S. Army he set out to conquer the world. He and his wife bought a big truck and trailer and began hauling hay. Bill was a gifted entrepreneur. He had a restaurant, horse and a cattle ranch. He and his wife built many homes together for resale. He was a wonderful father and provider for his family. He loved Jesus Christ with his heart, soul, mind and strength. Longing to be with his Lord, he has been received into glory!

He is survived by his wife, Allene; his son, Steve Thompson of Hayden; his daughters, Betty Lovato of Gold Hill, Ore., and Keloyne Jackson of Florida; sisters, Lorene Asher of California and Betty Brixey of Texas; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; eight nieces and 12 nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, with burial following at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens. You may visit Bill’s memorial and sign his online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
