Resided in Murray

Our beloved wife and mother, Sally Schreiber, 72, of Murray, passed away Feb. 11, 2013, surrounded by her husband, daughter, son and her precious dog, Millie. She was born on Sept. 8, 1940, in Spokane to Victor and Loretta Cook.

She grew up in Coeur d’Alene with her sister and brothers. She attended St. Thomas grade school, IHM Academy and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1959. She later attended and graduated from North Idaho’s nursing program and worked as a registered nurse in the mental health field in Coeur d’Alene.

Sally met her husband, Jim Schreiber in 1966 when they were both working at AMEX in Hayden Lake. They married on July 3, 1968.

Sally lived in and around the Coeur d’Alene area for the majority of her life, before moving with her husband to Murray in 2005.

Sally had a wide variety of hobbies. She was an avid golfer and hunter, who also liked to paint, garden, read, camp and fish. She loved to cook and was always in the kitchen making meals for family and friends. Sally loved her home in Murray and taking drives with her husband, enjoying the scenery and looking for wildlife. She got excited watching the hummingbirds, turkeys, deer and elk that came into their yard. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a twinkle in her eye when telling stories to family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her memory will be forever cherished.

Sally is survived by her husband, Jim Schreiber of Murray; her daughter, Kathy (Edinger) Dingman of Coeur d’Alene and her son, Jay Stotts of Coeur d’Alene. She is also survived by her granddaughter and her husband, Michelle (Dingman) and Nate Hyder; and her great-grandchildren, Jadyn Dingman Hyder and Chase Hyder, all from Coeur d’Alene. In addition, she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jim Hawkins of Coeur d’Alene; her brother, Gary Cook of Spokane; sisters-in-law, Dina Cook, Dorothy Cook, Gloria Morden, Virgene Rade and Marie Albright; brothers-in-law, Nyal Avery and Ralph Pehrson; and many nieces and nephews. Sally is also survived by her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, P.J. Dingman; both of her parents; her brothers, Tom and Jim; and brother-in-law Don Morden.

In respect of Sally’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring in Murray.

The family would like to thank Dr. Fogerty and the staff at Hospice House for their excellent care in the final days. Memorial donations may be made in Sally’s name, to North Idaho Hospice, 9493 Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835. Please visit Sally’s memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfunealhomes.com.
