ANNIVERSARY
Ed and Cindy English
50th Anniversary
Ed and Cindy English, formerly of Coeur d'Alene, just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They will continue the celebration in April when the entire family will cruise to the Caribbean.
Edward A. English married Lucinda Lee Brush on Feb. 1, 1963, in Coeur d'Alene while students at the University of Idaho. They were Coeur d'Alene High School sweethearts. After graduation, they moved to Livermore, Calif., where they lived for 38 years before moving to Grants Pass, Ore., 10 years ago. Ed retired as a mechanical engineer at Sandia National Laboratories in California in 1996. Cindy retired as public relations and ombuds assistant at Sandia National Laboratories in 1996 as well. She previously worked as an elementary school librarian and a secretary.
They are the children of the late Don and Grace English and the late Avery and Lorraine Brush, all of Coeur d'Alene.
In Grants Pass, they are active members of the Newcomers Club, Josephine County Historical Society, and Jefferson State Street Rods. Ed also volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and Cindy enjoys the Merlin Rouge Red Hatters and the Colonial Valley Women's Club.
They have two daughters: Amy Sessums, and her husband Scott, of Springfield, Ore.; and Katy Kendall, and her husband Dale, of Carson City, Nev. They have five teenaged grandchildren: Cole and Jesse Sessums, and Drew, Kacey and Dani Kendall.
James and Linda Polzin
52nd Anniversary
James Polzin and Linda (Hightower) Polzin celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary Feb. 4, 2013. They were married Feb. 4, 1961.
They lived and raised their family in Beaver Dam, Wis., and lived there for 42 years. In 2002 they moved to North Idaho and now reside in the home they built in Blanchard.
Linda is retired from Business Management and James is retired as a business owner, engineer and architect.
Their children are Monique Siedschlag (Mark) of Thoreau, N.M., and Rebecca Koltz (Dan) of Belgrade, Mont. Their grandchildren are Erika (Siedschlag) Tuffli, married to Kyle, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Ethan Siedschlag of Thoreau; Abigail, Caleb and Seth Koltz, of Belgrande.
ENGAGEMENTS
Thomason-Webb
Stephen and Raynae Webb announce the engagement of their son, Travis Lee Webb of Coeur d'Alene, to Katy June Thomason of Meridian. Katy is the daughter of Bryan and the late Bambi Thomason, and granddaughter of Nancy and Glen McConaughey.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Coeur d'Alene.
Bell-Van Valin
Luke Van Valin and Caitlyn Bell of Denver, Colo., announce their engagement.
Luke is the son of Tim and Debbie Van Valin of Athol, and Caitlyn is the daughter of Mike and Carylyn Dooley of Denver and Daniel Bell of Parker, Colo.
The wedding will be in June 2013 in Denver. The bride is a graduate of the University of Colorado, and will attend graduate school in business in the fall. Luke is a sports announcer for extreme skiing and beach volleyball. The couple will reside in Denver.

Emilee Ann Elaine Albert was born at 7:16 a.m. Jan. 9, 2013, to Tamika and Anthony Albert of Rathdrum. She weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 20.75 inches long. Sister is Lilee Albert. Brothers are Rylee Albert and Brett Albert. Maternal grandparents are Kathy Zink, Shannon Vigil and Mack Smith. Paternal grandparents are Vic and Sally Albert.
Cayden Sawyer Trinkle was born at 1:43 a.m. Jan. 18, 2013, to Jennifer Lucker and Kaleb Trinkle of Newman Lake, Wash. He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 21.5 inches long. Sister is Isabella Trinkle. Maternal grandparents are Carl and Jan Lucker. Paternal grandparents are Sherry (TA) and Laurie Trinkle.
Molly Annaliese Cox was born Jan. 18, 2013, to Kimberly (Odd) and Dusty Cox of Idaho Falls. She weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces. Siblings are Daisy, 6, Addie, 4 and Jeddie. Maternal grandparents are Chuck and Cindy Odd of Hayden. Paternal grandparents are Wade and Becky Cox of Idaho Falls. Great-grandparents are Evelyn Odd of Buckley, Wash., and Roy Eskesen of Federal Way, Wash.
Vivienne Wind Scott was born at 1:20 a.m. Jan. 28, 2013, to Christine and Derik Scott of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 20.25 inches long. Maternal grandmother is Cathy South. Paternal grandmother is Dona Watson.
Kira Lori Ann Vodder was born at 12:37 p.m. Jan 30, 2013, to Britiea Smith and Colby Vodder of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Big brother is Skyler Smith. Maternal grandparents are Trina Smith and George Houston. Paternal grandparents are Sherry and Rod Caudill.
MILITARY
Air Force Airman John W. Bertsch graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Bertsch is the son of Joel Bertsch of Coeur d'Alene.
He is a 2012 graduate of Lake City High School in Coeur d'Alene.
Army Staff Sgt. Jason M. Gilliland has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Gilliland is a maintenance officer assigned to the Fourth Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He has served in the military for 10 years.
He is the son of James Gilliland of Silverton and Kim Gilliland of Mullan. His wife, Holly, is the daughter of Steve Gans of Everett, Wash., and Sharroll Travis of Coeur d'Alene.
The staff sergeant is a 2002 graduate of Wallace High School.
