KENNEWICK, Wash. - Troy Trombley made 34 saves, Connor Rankin scored twice and the Tri-City Americans beat the Spokane Chiefs 6-0 in Western Hockey League play Saturday night in front of 5,449 at the Toyota Center.
The game marked the third time the Chiefs (34-23-2-0, 70 points) have been shut out this season.
Spokane still holds a one-point lead over Tri-City and Victoria for the fourth seed in the Western Conference playoff race.
Spokane plays at Portland on Monday at 3 p.m.
