Eat, drink and support schools

POST FALLS - Here's your chance to sample food, wine and microbrews made by area businesses and support education in the process.

Wine, Stein and Dine - the nonprofit Post Falls Education Foundation's annual fundraiser for classroom projects - will be held on Saturday, March 2, from 7-10 p.m. at the Greyhound Park and Event Center.

"There's such a selection every year," said Dave Paul, a PFEF board member referring to more than 85 vendors that will be represented.

Advance tickets are $45 per person and are available at Washington Trust Bank branches in North Idaho, the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, Super 1 Foods-Post Falls, Enoteca-Post Falls and Trading Company. Tickets are $60 at the door.

The cost includes all food and beverages and a wine glass or beer stein. Attendees must be at least 21.

The event also includes a silent auction, wine tree raffle and live entertainment.

The fundraiser has raised $406,000 for classroom projects that teachers have applied for over the past 16 years. It has attracted more than 600 people in recent years.

"We haven't raised the price for several years because we want to keep it affordable for families," Paul said. "Each year we strive to improve based on feedback we get from the year before."

Paul said the environment is unique because some attendees come dressed up, while others come casual.

"It's a night a lot of people look forward to every year; we get a lot of people who return," Paul said. "You get to sample some of the best food, wine and beer in the country, and there's school spirit tied to it."
