Bertaggia's 2 goals help Chiefs smother Silvertips

EVERETT, Wash. - Alessio Bertaggia scored twice and the Spokane Chiefs defeated the Everett Silvertips 6-3 in Western Hockey League action Friday night in front of 4,568 at Comcast Arena.

Mitch Holmberg, Dylan Walchuk, Mikulas Rimmel and Cole Wedman also scored for Spokane, which outshot Everett 39-27.

Walchuk's goal was his second short-handed tally in as many games.

The Chiefs improved to 4-2 against Everett in the season series and currently hold sole possession of the fourth seed for the Western Conference playoffs.

Eric Williams stopped 24 shots for the Chiefs (34-22-2-0, 70 points), who play the Tri-City Americans tonight at 7 in Kennewick, Wash.
