Brenda Stockton, 77
Brenda Stockton, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at O’Connor Memorial Chapel. Cremation has taken place under the direction of O’Connor Funeral Home.
Brenda was born Dec. 27, 1935, in London, England. She was the only child of parents Martha “Margaret” and Henry Self. Growing up during World War II helped her become a very determined, tenacious, adventurous and fun-loving young lady. She finished school in London and worked with her parents in a London pub. It was there that she met her handsome military husband of 54 years, Dean Stockton. Shortly thereafter, they married in London in 1958, and had two “brilliant” children, son Dean Jr. and daughter Kellie.
After moving several times over the years, Brenda and family finally made Great Falls, Mont., their HOME in 1976. She took a job in the restaurant profession, spending 20 years between the Heritage Inn and Elmer’s Restaurant. Her true calling, however, was that of “Domestic Engineer Extraordinaire.” She was always concerned foremost about the welfare of her family and home. Even on camping trips (one of her favorite things to do) she made sure everyone was taken care of and having FUN!
She is survived by her husband, Dean “Bud” Stockton of Great Falls; daughter Kellie Stockton of Spokane; daughter-in-law Terri Stockton of Cascade, Mont.; grandchildren, Mariah and Tristan Stockton of Cascade; and many other family members and lifelong friends.
Preceding Brenda in death were her parents, Margaret and Henry Self and son Dean Jr. (2007).
Donations in memory of Brenda Stockton can be made to the Sletten Cancer Institute of Great Falls, 1101 26th St. S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
