Post Falls woman arrested on misdemeanor prostitution charge
POST FALLS - A 37-year-old Post Falls woman was arrested on a misdemeanor prostitution charge on Friday after a police sting operation at the Riverbend Inn in Post Falls.
Mistie Bennett was booked into the local jail and posted $300 bond the same day to be released.
Prostitution is a misdemeanor until the suspect is convicted for the third time, which triggers a felony.
Police said they received an anonymous tip that Bennett was conducting her alleged business through a classified ad website.
An undercover agent set up a time to meet Bennett at the hotel while other officers awaited in the next room during the wired sting operation, according to a police report
When asked if she considered herself a prostitute, she said no because she's an "escort" that only charges for "time," the report states.
Based on Bennett collecting $200 in the room and other evidence, Bennett was arrested, the report states.
