EXCHANGE: Find a way to say no

| February 13, 2013 8:00 PM

I keep hearing that Idaho MUST accept the health care exchange (Obamacare) because it’s “the law.” Well, sometimes the law just doesn’t make sense and those of us who see it for what it is need to stand up and call it what it is. Is a law that has 30,000 pages of rules in the making and STILL being expanded as we speak, that REQUIRES American citizens to let the government tell them what is best for their health, that comes between a patient and their doctor, that turns all of a patient’s healthcare records over to the IRS (seems like that HIPAA form I’ve signed at the doctor’s office said something about that not happening)…is this really a law that we can seriously say must be adopted?

It’s time to stand up to the feds and say enough is enough! They will push and push until we push back. Ronald Reagan said it well when he said, “No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth!” He also said, “Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.” I agree wholeheartedly.

To the good people in our legislature: We’re counting on you to stand for us, the citizens, on this. Both the federal and state run health care systems are bad choices. Just say no. Vote with intelligence!
