Resort hires wedding sales leader
Jodi Heinen has been hired as wedding sales manager at The Coeur d'Alene Resort. In this role, she will help her clients plan their event at one of The Resort's numerous lakeside wedding venues.
A graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, she was previously wedding and events director at the Hayden Lake Country Club.
Celtic Spirit to hold reopening
The Celtic Spirit, Holistic Wellness and Natural Health will hold a grand opening in Rathdrum on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
The event will be in on the second floor of the Palidash Building, 8052 W. Main St., across from City Hall.

Hecla hires new vice president
Hecla Mining Company has hired Mike Westerlund as vice president-investor relations.
Westerlund will lead the investor relations and external communications functions for the company and will be the primary liaison between Hecla and its investors, analysts and the financial community globally.
He will be based in Hecla's office in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Westerlund will report to Phillips S. Baker Jr., Hecla's president and chief executive officer.
"Mike brings experience and energy to his new position at Hecla," Baker said. "We are looking forward to him playing an important role in the communication of our current operations and growth initiatives to broaden and add shareholder value."
Westerlund has experience in the minerals industry. Prior to joining Hecla, he held a variety of senior investor relations and corporate communications positions with Peregrine Diamonds Ltd., Peregrine Metals Ltd., Polaris Minerals Corp., and Ashton Mining of Canada Ltd.
New preschool, day care opens
Imagine Creativity Center, a licensed preschool and day care for children age 3 to 6 at 315 N. Fourth St. in Coeur d'Alene, recently opened.
The goal of the center is to nurture creative thinking in the formative years.
Co-directors are Kari Browning and Stacia Thompson.
Children learn through imaginative play. Several stations are set up around the center, which includes an art studio ,music, family, science, business, education, media, and health and wellness.

Free tax service for vets, military
Liberty Tax Service salutes veterans, active military and their immediate family members with free tax preparation at all participating Liberty Tax Service offices from February 18-24.
This is for first-time customers of Liberty Tax.
"We want to give something back to honor the brave men and women who valiantly defend us and the American way of life," said Alicia Goodson, marketing manager of Liberty Tax Service, Coeur d'Alene. Shannon, Bartoo to help seniors
Cindy Shannon and Amy Bartoo recently joined North Idaho Professionals Helping Seniors Alliance. Shannon, director of community outreach for Hospice of North Idaho, will represent hospice services and Bartoo, community and public relations director, will represent home health services.
"There is a critical need to share with our community what services are available to seniors," states Becky Fahey, the group's president. "Our alliance was formed to effectively communicate senior resources in all areas of health for older adults and their families."
They will launch a six-week Senior Services Conference at Lake City Center beginning Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. It's free. Topics will include "Downsizing with Purpose," "Medicare Made Simple" and "Legal and Financial Issues in Aging."

Program to help contractors
Contractors are invited to learn about protecting themselves on construction projects by spotting important contract provisions and keeping thorough project documentation during a free full-day workshop in Hayden on Tuesday, April 17.
Construction claims also will be covered.
The workshop is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Idaho Transportation Department, 600 W. Prairie Ave.
The program will be presented by attorney Wendy Wendrowski and is sponsored by ITD's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Supportive Services.
