| February 11, 2013 3:56 PM

The Shepherd has called home another of his flock. Maryellen Dickerson, 78, of Coeur d’Alene, left this world for everlasting life on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. She was born to Mary (Larkin) and William Redmond on May 11, 1934, in Somerville, Mass.

As a young woman, she moved to the western Kansas frontier where she met the very handsome 1st Lieutenant Harold E. Dickerson from Atkinson, Neb. They tied the knot in Russell, Kan., on Sept. 30, 1956. After many moves around the country, they finally settled in Kansas City, Mo. She was a great friend to all who knew her and a wonderful homemaker. Maryellen worked for years with the public, making each customer feel comfortable. God was very important in her life, and she spent many hours serving her church with Alter Guild and Sunday school activities. She loved her time crocheting and visiting with friends and family. She was well-known for her ability to tell a great story.

Harold preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by her daughter, J’Nell (Jay) Adams; her sister Theresa Murray of Randolph, Mass.; and her three lovely grandchildren, Rachel, Christopher and Jacklyn.

A memorial service was held at Yates Funeral Home. Her final resting place will be Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, was entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Maryellen’s online memorial and sign her guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
