REGAN: Forgive and forget

| February 10, 2013 8:00 PM

Let me begin by stating that I know nothing of the current issue, except what I read in the paper. I do know who Brent Regan is. I’ve heard him speak. He is an honorable man who has my respect.

Now I don’t have a degree in “whatever.” I didn’t start an institute on “human rights” so you would know better, but as I read it, Mr. Regan has already apologized for being “human.” But if I’m to understand correctly, that’s not enough. You want more. Please help me to understand. Do you feel qualified to judge and rate what we all say to determine its “appropriateness” for public consumption?

Now I may have misinterpreted the tone of the story, but it seems to me that you guys are kind of ganging up on Mr. Regan, using words like “ignorance” and “insensitivity” in your “prepared” statement.

I’m seriously lacking in credentials, but you guys that are pros at “human relations” should know the best; in fact the only course to follow is to forgive and forget in love and peace. Otherwise it sounds to me like plain old bullying and I didn’t think you guys were in favor of that. Equal rights for everyone.
