Briere's OT goal lifts Flyers past 'Canes

Danny Briere scored 1:47 into overtime to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.

Jakub Voracek, Matt Read and Brayden Schenn also scored for Philadelphia, which went 3-0-1 on a four-game homestand.

Devils 3, Penguins 1: At Newark, N.J., Adam Henrique and Bobby Butler scored power-play goals during a 2:12 span in the third period, and New Jersey extended its winning streak to four games with a victory over Pittsburgh that snapped the Penguins' five-game winning streak.

Red Wings 2, Oilers 1: Niklas Kronwall's third-period goal broke a tie, and Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and an assist in Detroit's win over visiting Edmonton.

Jets 1, Senators 0: Alex Ponikarovsky scored the only goal in Winnipeg's win at Ottawa.

Coyotes 1, Sharks 0, SO: Mike Smith made 33 saves through overtime and then turned aside two more shots in the shootout to carry Phoenix at San Jose.

Maple Leafs 6, Canadiens 0: James Reimer made 37 saves and Phil Kessel had a goal and two assists and Toronto won at Montreal.

Capitals 5, Panthers 0: Troy Brouwer scored two goals, leading Washington past visiting Florida.

Canucks 5, Flames 1: Rookie Jordan Schroeder scored his first two NHL goals and Vancouver rallied past visiting Calgary.

Sabres 3, Islanders 2: At Uniondale, N.Y., Ryan Miller made 41 saves, and Alexander Sulzer scored the tiebreaking goal midway through the third period for Buffalo in a win over New York.

Ducks 6, Blues 5, SO: Bobby Ryan had two goals and two assists as Anaheim won at St. Louis.

Wild 2, Predators 1, OT: At St. Paul, Minn., Devin Setoguchi's power-play goal at 4:21 of overtime lifted Minnesota past Nashville.

Tampa Bay at Boston, ppd., snow: The Lightning-Bruins game was postponed because of a blizzard that dumped more than 2 feet of snow on the area.
