Few named assistant coach

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Gonzaga men's basketball coach Mark Few will be an assistant for the 2013 USA Basketball men's under-19 World Championship - the same staff that helped the USA qualify for the FIBA World Championship.

The World Championship will be played from June 17-July 7 in Prague, Czech Republic.

"We are great friends," Few said of the staff. "We complement each other on the floor with our philosophies. I also learned a lot being around them."

This past summer, Donovan, Few and Smart led the USA to a 5-0 record and a gold medal at the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Brazil, earning the U.S. its place in the Worlds tournament. In five wins, the U.S. averaged 97.2 points and won by an average of 38.6 points per game.
