Cardinals swept by No. 1 Salt Lake in SWAC openers
ST. GEORGE, Utah - Joanna Krum had a two-run single in a four-run second inning during the first game for the North Idaho College Cardinals, who lost to the top-ranked (NJCAA) Salt Lake Bruins 11-5 and 16-0 in five innings of their Scenic West Athletic Conference-opening doubleheader at the Canyons Complex on Friday.
Kylene Hatton and Amber Meyers also had RBIs for NIC (3-6, 0-2 SWAC), which committed five errors in the first game. NIC was held to two hits in the second game.
Salt Lake improves to 12-3, 4-0.
The teams conclude their weekend series with a doubleheader today.
