NIC ROUNDUP: Sarbaugh clutch for NIC men

| February 8, 2013 8:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - Chris Sarbaugh hit a jumper with 32 seconds remaining to give the Cardinals a 62-61 lead, then made the first of two free throws with 2.6 left as ninth-ranked North Idaho College beat Utah State-Eastern 63-61 on Thursday night in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game at Rolly Williams Court.

"We had to grind one out," NIC coach Jared Phay said. "They've been playing crazy, but had it under control tonight. They were good. You've got to give a lot of credit to Eastern Utah. We were fortunate to get out of the game with a win."

"Kaj, even though he was sick, was a big difference for us tonight," Phay said.

In other SWAC action, Southern Idaho (18-8, 5-6) beat Colorado Northwestern (7-19, 0-11) 87-71 in Twin Falls.
