GLADYS: A great friend to students

In my presentation to Gladys Schneidmiller at the Post Falls Banquet for the Heritage Award I inadvertently left out perhaps the most important thing that Gladys has done for a long time for this community and I sincerely apologize for this oversight.

For the last several years Gladys has generously given thousands of dollars to students in the Post Falls School District to enable them to attend college. Gladys has been funding significant student scholarships for the last 15 years. The Manuel and Gladys Schneidmiller Post Falls Scholarship Fund generates one new four-year, renewable scholarship each year.

Four former Post Falls students are currently enrolled at WSU and BSU; since the fund was created 11 students have already graduated. The fund currently provides financial support of approximately $30,000 per student when renewed for the full years. Gladys has also been honored as a benefactor of WSU for her role in funding annual WSU scholarships.

Sorry for leaving out these very important attributes, Gladys.
