LETTER: No defense for John Kerry

| February 6, 2013 8:00 PM

I have been reading these letters in the Press for many years. There has never been one that has pulled my chain as badly as this letter from a (so-called USAF Major) Ron Johnson.

I spent my whole (active) 23 years in the U.S. Navy and was over in Vietnam from start to finish on various ships. I was there when your friend (I assume) Jane Fonda was over there doing her thing with her friends from the north. I know that I am not the only guy that thinks your comments about Kerry are a bunch of, who cares, stuff (putting it nicely).

We lost a lot of young men over there, and to have this “exemplary officer” (in your eyes) come home and throw his wonderful medals away and downgrade the men who died over there is treasonous in my book. I would like to have you take Jane Fonda by the hand and go to the wall in D.C., read your article you put in your letter and see how many folks give you a round of applause. I am sure you would get a round, but not applause.
