Press poll: Obama sequel will be worse

| February 5, 2013 7:05 AM

Who says these polls aren't statistically valid? Well, OK. We do.

But an interesting thing happened on the way to the latest Press poll.

A full 65 percent of respondents — 982 voters — say they expect President Obama's second term will be worse than his first. So what's interesting about that?

We looked up how Obama fared last November among Kootenai County voters and saw that exactly 65 percent of voters cast their ballot for Obama's opponent, Mitt Romney. Coincidence? We think not.

Back to the Press poll: Only 29 percent, 439 voters, said they think Obama's second term will be better for the country than his first, and 6 percent said they think it will be about the same. In the general election, Obama received 31 percent of the Kootenai County presidential vote.
