ANNIVERSARY
Clifford and Rhoda Schlehuber
65th Anniversary
In Coeur d'Alene, ID., on Jan. 7, 1948, Rhoda Lockert, of Granger, Wash., married Clifford William Schlehuber of Tensed, Idaho.
They lived in Granger, Lemhi and Salmon, ID., then Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, ID., where Cliff worked for the U.S. Forest Service; then Nampa, ID., and Monida, Mont., when working for the Fish & Wildlife Service.
Upon moving to Spokane, Wash., he worked for drywall contractors and Rhoda worked for Dix Steel Building Co. In 1956, the couple moved to Billings, Mont., and were Montana residents for 47 years. Cliff did drywall contracting and Rhoda worked for Crowley Law Firm, then as a bank officer for First Bank Billings and then First Interstate Bank Billings, until retirement, for more than 43 years. She volunteered at the Billings Clinic for many years after retiring at the PALS desk.
Son Dale was born in Caldwell, ID., and son Dane, in Spokane. Dale is married to Colette (Dolechek) and they have two sons: Cody and Troy Schelhuber, and live in Columbus, Mont. Dane has a daughter, Katelyn, living in Spokane, and they also have five stepchildren.
Seven years ago, Cliff and Rhoda retired to Post Falls, ID., (near the area Cliff was born and raised). Cliff did a lot of hunting and fishing for many years; a lot of fishing in high mountain lakes at 9,000+ feet of elevation. The couple also did a lot of water skiing and boating when their boys were young - barefoot, trick skiing and the like, teaching many young kids the sport.
Rhoda now enjoys her flowers and mowing the lawn. Cliff walks their Brittany, Tori, every morning. Tori 'walks' Rhoda evenings. Doing a lot of snow blowing these past few days!
To celebrate the 65th, son Dale took them to dinner, and they will celebrate more this spring in Montana with their children.
