ISP silent on Washko DUI details

| February 1, 2013 9:46 AM

Idaho State Police Capt. Curtis Kastens told The Press ISP cannot discuss the particulars of Coeur d’Alene Deputy Fire Chief Jim Washko’s DUI.

Washko was cited and released after failing a field sobriety test shortly after midnight Dec. 22, but he was not arrested.

How Washko got home that night 11 miles from the scene of his citation, or why he wasn’t arrested isn’t in the ISP report, and Kastens said the department will have no comment on the case because litigation is pending. Washko is scheduled to appear March 4 before Magistrate Judge Robert Caldwell.
