Victor Ferdinand Wycoff

Victor Ferdinand Wycoff, 94, was born April 3, 1919, in Hunters, Wash. He departed on Thanksgiving day, Nov. 28, 2013, in Hayden, Idaho.

Victor spent most of his adult life in Hayden with his wife Clara and two sons, Gary and Sidney. Also a friend of Gary and Sid, Bill Swaghoven a young man in his 20s from Holland who was struggling to find his way in America. He lived with the family for three years and has been a lifelong member of Vic’s family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; two brothers, Ernest and Everett (Bay); his mother, Bertha and father Albert.

Victor was born during the flu epidemic, he was half the weight he should have been and wasn’t expected to live. He served in the Army from January 1943 to January 1946. In l955 he went to work for Kaiser Aluminum.

Victor bought 10 acres of property in Hayden and built a home. The kids had cattle and horses. He enjoyed raising cattle and always had a big garden. Victor lost his right hand working in the Carpenter Shop at Kaiser on Dec. 11, 1969. He returned to work and later retired from Kaiser.

A graveside memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Forest Cemetery. A special Thank you to his friends at Sylvan House assisted living home in Hayden. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
