If any of you ever eat, this is what this week's items are!

"Healthy, affordable fast-food" is the theme of the Teriyaki Grill. The new eatery opens Monday across from Bullman's Pizza on Old Mill Loop in Riverstone.

The menu offers several regular or small teriyaki dishes, salads, sides and family platters. Customers order and pick up at the counter, and catering is available.

Teriyaki Grill started 15 years ago with former NFL (Seattle and New Orleans) player Mike Keim and his wife, Tiffany. Local owner is Bill Betts with 10 employees. This is the seventh location.

With seating for 40 customers at tables, the counter and an outside patio, hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Beer and wine will be added in early September. The decor includes local photos. Phone 292-4977. Check www.t-grill.com.

All-American Burgers opens this week

A patriotic decor and healthy food is the pledge of All-American Burgers & Sandwiches. The new restaurant plans to open Thursday at 1801 E. Sherman Ave. in what most recently was Lucca's Restaurant.

"Fresh" is the word stressed by owner Jamie Harper and chef Christopher Smith, with items not previously frozen and not microwaved. The menu includes a variety of burgers, sandwiches, paninis, all-you-can-eat fries, shakes, malts, soups (later), salads, sweet-potato fries and beer and wine (soon).

The restaurant seats 40 customers at tables. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Veterans and law-enforcement personnel get 10 percent off.

EnVision Cafe opens in Hayden

Breakfast and lunch items and beverages are offered at Envision Cafe by Coffee Northwest. This cafe will celebrate its grand opening Sept. 5-7 at 9225 N. Government Way. The storefront faces Orchard Avenue.

EnVision's menu includes bagels, cinnamon rolls, scones, muffins, coffee cake, breakfast bagel sandwiches, salads, sandwiches, wraps, coffee, teas, smoothies and protein drinks. It also has fresh-roasted coffee by the pound and will have soups, salads and gluten-free items.

Owners Barry and Joyce Robb have many years experience in coffee roasting and marketing. They also offer coffee blends and delivery.

The cafe seats 31 customers of different types inside and out, a fireplace and a power strip. A sales room or dining room will be added.

Hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, 8 to 3 Saturdays and 8 to 2 Sundays. Phone 818-3235. Check www.coffeenorthwest.com.

Now for the Tidbits

• Watch for a Qdoba in Hayden.

• Among businesses detailed here earlier: Parker Subaru opened this past week off Highway 95, Parker Volkswagon will open in Post Falls in mid-September, Harbor Freight Tools opened Saturday at 410B Neider Ave. (behind Texas Roadhouse), and Elmer's Restaurant opens at the end of the week at 290 W. Appleway (the former Perkins location).

• KC's Breakfast Club closed in Post Falls, and Centre Beauty Supply at 4055 N. Government Way will close in mid-September.

• The former Wild Waters has a "for sale" sign, as does the property earlier rumored to have a future Golden Corral Restaurant.

• Last week we wondered why we say "pair of pants" (two legs) and not "pair of shirts" (two arms). A reader said it's because in the way past pants were two separate leg pieces connected at the waist by a belt. Don't know what they did about between the legs ... :)

• Style note: A whole comprises its parts. That's shorter than saying "...is composed of..." but no one says it.
