THANKS: Class of '63 had fabulous 50th

The Coeur d'Alene High School Class of '63 had a fabulous 50th reunion July 26-27. Thank you Coeur d'Alene Press for printing some of our pictures.

I would also like to thank the Hagadone Corporation and classmates Jim Drechsel and Leroy Gill for their help in securing a huge parking area near the Cedar's Floating Restaurant. It made it so much easier for the 203 passengers who boarded the Mish N Nock on Friday the 26th. The Captain, Carl Fus, was very cordial by letting us load at the Cedar's which avoided the mess of parking downtown.

Thank you Jim Axtell for providing shade cover while classmates gathered in the parking lot. Thank you Bob Rarick from the IHM Class of 63 for organizing your classmates who joined us on the cruise.

Thanks to Robideaux Motors and Jim Drechsel for providing a van and thank you Gary Baker for being our designated driver to shuttle our classmates to the cruise and to our barbecue after the cruise. Thanks to our classmates Donna and Garry Richardson and Jim Kimball and his wife Karen for driving and providing the other vans. Thanks also to classmates Judy and Bob Karlgaard, Pat and Heidi Acuff for providing pontoons to shuttle some to the barbecue.

Thank you Colby Acuff and Justin Sherfy for providing two hours of non-stop great entertainment on the cruise in the 90-degree weather.

A huge thank you to our classmate Dr. Bill Chapman for allowing us to infiltrate his waterfront home for a great barbecue. Thanks to Kicker Catering for providing an excellent menu for our barbecue and again for a great catered dinner on Saturday at the Eagles ballroom in downtown Coeur d'Alene. Many thanks to the Dessert Rose Band for our dancing enjoyment on Saturday.

A huge thank you to Gary Frensdorf for providing picture name tags, setting up his equipment for pictures at the barbecue and at the Eagles. Thank you Terry Fisher for finding the T-shirts, Donna Richardson from Seattle Mailing for printing more than 100 bios from info Sylvia Lien collected and edited.

Most of all, I want to thank the absolute best committee I've ever dealt with. The regulars who came to most monthly meetings and offered so much help with anything I asked for were: Pat Acuff, Jim Axtell, Bill Chapman, Jim Drechsel, Jim Frame, Terry Fisher, Leroy Gill, Tom Lien, Donna Richardson, Judy Karlgaard, Maria Brown, Gary Frensdorf, Brad Iverson, Jerry Baltzell, Dan Price, Judy Wiks, Larry Echelberger, Sandy Emerson and rarely Dexter Yates.

Also, thank you Pat Acuff and Brad Iverson for putting the golf game together. Brad did a great job as our auctioneer.

With much appreciation I'm proud to have led a 40th, 45th and the 50th reunion the "Last Hurrah" for the CHS Class of 63! Thank you for the overwhelming gift card you gave me.

With deepest thanks and gratitude,

ELAINE (KAHN) WHITE

THANKS: Spirit Lake Visions appreciative

First, Spirit Lake Visions would like to thank you for the great story Brian Walker wrote about us four old broads (my words, not his) raising money for Spirit Lake's Fourth of July Fireworks. It did generate some extra needed donations, even from out of town. Unfortunately we still were short $408. We were able to pay the $3,500 but that means we are that much short for next spring's deposit. If not forthcoming, the deposit will have to come from some of our monies planned for Christmas, Easter, etc., if we do a display.

We would like to express our appreciation to all those who bought raffle tickets and to those who made substantial cash donations including: the City of Spirit Lake, Sondahl's Pottery, Spirit Lake Senior Citizens, Spirit Lake Family Dental, Miller's Harvest Foods, Spirit Lake Chamber of Commerce, Fox Electric, Spirit Lake Mini Stop and Panhandle Waste.

The fireworks display was neat and admired by many. We had one of our largest turnouts ever for our parade and our park activities.
