Armed suspect in Cd'A

A man has barricaded himself into an apartment in the 4200 block of Abbey Road, reports the Coeur d'Alene Police Department. He is believed to be armed with a handgun.

SWAT is on scene, and many neighbors have been evacuated from their residences.

Police are asking citizens to avoid the area off Atlas Road south of W. Kathleen Ave.
