En guarde! The new adaptation of Alexander Dumas' classic story "The Three Musketeers" is making its premiere this evening at Lake City High School.

From fast and furious duels to the dangerous streets of Paris by night, the tale celebrates honor, romance, friendship and a lust for life.

The show runs at 7 p.m. tonight, Friday and Saturday and again next week from Thursday through Saturday, in the Lake City High School auditorium, 6101 N. Ramsey Road.

The story focuses on the handsome young D'Artagnan, a country boy determined to be a hero, and his adventures in Paris with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, the hardiest, wittiest and most reckless of the King's Musketeers. Quickly embroiled in romantic affairs, intrigue, devilish plots and ferocious duels, he learns that being a hero is more complicated than he thought.

The fencing scenes will be fast and furious under the direction of fight choreographer and professional stuntman Chris Totora.

The cast of The Three Musketeers features Easton Townsend as D'Artagnan, Jeremiah Gookin as Athos, Kody Kratz as Aramis, Ryan Chidester as Porthos and Becka Soy as Milady.

The cast also includes: Sam Balas, Gabe Single-Schwall, Nicholas Gribbin, William Welch King, Avery Strobel, Kendall Parrett, Nathan Welsh, Piper Glover, Sydney Bell, Paige Estes, Christy Clark, Grace Warnick, Catlin Harris and Katharine Cheevers.

In addition to the director Daniel J. Bell, the artistic team includes Totora (Fight Choreography), Sandra Seaton (Scenic and Costume Design), Uriah Ove (Lighting Design), Katlin Stamm (Stage Manager), Caitlin White (Assistant Director) and Zack White (Technical Director).

General admission is $8; $7 for seniors, students and children; and $6 for students holding a Lake City ASB card. Tickets can be purchased from Karen in the front office, during both lunches the week of the show, or at the ticket counter before the show. The ticket booth is open at 6:15 each night of the program.
