'Mania begins again on Sunday

The actual Super Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., will have to wait until next February, but the home to the New York Jets and Giants will get a taste of a big time event this Sunday as Wrestlemania 29 unfolds at the area.

NOW, I know what you're thinking - how can you watch that garbage?

Easy, it's entertaining.

From as a kid, trying to tune in the event on our cable box for Wrestlemania 7 - (it worked for a brief moment), to now, it never gets old.

Over the course of the last three months, professional wrestling fans - and I know some are out there - have been treated to quite the buildup for a few of the marquee matches on Sunday night.

First off, in a match for the heavyweight championship - John Cena will fight The Rock.

Yeah, that's right - The Rock. Same guy that's become a movie star and has one out now from what I've been told by some friends.

Cena, on the other hand, lost to The Rock last year, is vowing revenge and is also in the midst of trying to build his own acting career.

In another match, Vince McMahon - the guy that runs the WWE, will have his son-in-law Triple H take on Brock Lesnar in a no disqualification match.

Should Triple H lose, he'll be forced to retire.

Fans of the Ultimate Fighting Championship will remember Lesnar as the guy that came into mixed martial arts, made an impact right away, then just as suddenly, was back wrestling again.

Interesting stuff.

Another match pits CM Punk against the Undertaker.

The buildup for this match has been some of the most bizarre stuff I've ever seen in the WWE.

Punk, who held the heavyweight championship for more than 400 days, lost it earlier this year, to who else but The Rock.

Looking for someone to blame, he started to pick on the Undertaker - who at Wrestlemania has never lost, bringing a 20-0 record into Sunday's match.

20-0 - that's like Tiger Woods winning The Masters 20 straight times.

Maybe not, but it's still impressive.

What gets strange about this match is a few weeks ago, The Undertaker's longtime manager Paul Bearer passed away due to a heart attack. (Really, this actually happened.)

Meanwhile Punk, has done everything he can to egg him on - even having his manager dress like Bearer last Monday night to start a brawl between the two.

Scripted or not - it's going to be interesting to see what happens next.

WHILE THE days of the special guest celebrities have long gone - and this includes legendary baseball player Pete Rose, it has been more about the matches in recent years.

You can pay up to $60 for a boxing match, but there's no guarantee that it will last that long.

Sunday's event will likely deliver all that and more.

And for at least four hours, make me feel like a kid again.
