MAIL: Delivery request ignored

| April 5, 2013 9:00 PM

In reading the front page of April 2, concerning the Morrises plight of “Delayed Delivery,” I can certainly appreciate their dissatisfaction with our Illustrious Postal Service.

I am a disabled citizen, and my health has dwindled to the point that I am often NOT able to get to my street mailbox, because of humid weather, temperature extremes or the snow berms the city plows leave at the end of my driveway.

Last October (about the same time as the Morrises change of address request) I submitted a legitimate request for “Exception for Mail Delivery — porch” accompanied by a legitimate Doctors request.

I check with my mail carriers periodically, and they assure me it was definitely delivered to the local Postmaster, apparently ignored, and eventually sent to Seattle, where I can only assume it is now LOST.

It has been MORE THAN 5 months, and nothing has been done to accommodate this disabled citizen. I have been informed that several other “Exception for Mail Delivery” requests have since been submitted, and granted, and those citizens are receiving their requested mail delivery.

What does it take to get anything done, Mr Postmaster?

Do I need to submit multiple requests from several Doctors, or is a 911 call and an Ambulance going to be the final solution.
