The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has begun to add video segments of the recent Idaho Wildlife Summit to its website.

The Summit, Aug. 24-26, was truly a watershed event for wildlife conservation and public participation in Idaho, the department announced in a prepared statement.

Several hundred people participated directly, and 3,000 people from across the country and around the world watched and participated online.

The entire three-day event was recorded. Over the next few weeks, staff members will be going over more than 20 hours of video recordings, reading reams of poster paper and combing through hundreds of poll responses.

Additional video will be available on the IDFG website as soon as they are transferred into an online format and arranged.

Staff members are sorting and summarizing comments received during the Idaho Cafe session, various "Trading Posts" and the results from the "Fishing Polls."

Results of which will be shared with the public, along with what the department plans to do about the various topics brought to its attention.

The department is also seeking comments on its proposed 2013-2018 Fisheries Management Plan.

The plan is available for public review and comment on the IDFG website, at https://fishandgame.idaho.gov/content/webform/draft-2013-2018-fisheries-management-plan.

Comments will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. Sept. 30.
