SANDPOINT - Senior Anthony Fox continued his torrid scoring spree, blasting in three goals to lead the Bulldogs to a 4-0 blanking of Stillwater Christian from Kalispell, Mont., in boys soccer action Saturday at Centennial Field.

Fox has now scored seven goals in his past four games for the Bulldogs (4-2), who dominated possession and showed a high level of creativity in the final third.

Sandpoint held a 25-2 edge in shots, led by the confident and aggressive Fox.

"You can see it's clicked for him," Bulldogs coach Adam Tajan said. "The runs he's making are full paced, with no brakes."

Ash Dills finished with two assists, goalie Jake Rookey had his second assist of the season off a long boot and Jeremiah Gagnon netted his fourth goal on the year.

Tajan also praised the play of Raleigh Hanson and Tim Thoreson on the flanks, as the pair were sending in dangerous crosses all game.

POST FALLS - Minus five of their top players - four due to injuries - the Trojans suffered their third straight loss, this time to the Chiefs in nonleague play.

Post Falls (4-3) played with no subs, coach Briggs Anderson electing not to bring up anyone from the junior varsity so his five freshmen on varsity could receive as much playing time as possible.

"It was about game experience, and staying healthy," Anderson said. "It was about holding off Moses Lake as much as we could."

Among the ailing - Kelcie Hedge, possibly out another 10 days with a rolled ankle, Lexi Smith (concussion), and Katie King, who suffered a rolled ankle and a broken nose two minutes apart in a recent game. She's out another week, Anderson said.

Starting goalkeeper Sam Runkle has been out since the Trojans' second game - Aug. 21 at Moscow - with bruised ribs, and is likely to miss another week or two.

Post Falls, which lost to Lake City 4-1 on Thursday, plays host to Gonzaga Prep on Wednesday.
