COEUR d'ALENE - Thieves wasted no time using credit and debit cards they took from a vehicle while the victim was hiking on Tubbs Hill on Monday.

According to a police report, a Coeur d'Alene woman parked her vehicle in the 10th Street parking lot near the east entrance to Tubbs Hill, and went for a hike about 6 p.m.

When she returned an hour later, she drove home and realized her wallet had been stolen and a back door left unlocked.

The victim called her bank and was told two of her credit cards inside the wallet were used between 6 and 6:30 p.m. at a fast food restaurant and an office supply store, and $300 had been withdrawn from two ATMs.

In checking with the businesses where the credit card was used, the victim was able to get a description of a person who used her cards: a 5-foot-5, white female with shoulder length, sandy brown/blonde hair. She was reported to be driving a silver and light green passenger car.
