Hagadone Hospitality is one of the companies that donated money supporting Propositions 1, 2 and 3.

On Tuesday, Hagadone Hospitality Co. President Jerry Jaeger confirmed the donation in a press release to The Press. Hagadone Hospitality is owned by the Hagadone Corporation, as is the Coeur d'Alene Press.

"We are aware of a controversy currently in Boise's 4th District Court regarding the names of supporters of Propositions 1, 2 and 3 in this November's election," Jaeger wrote. "It has already been widely reported statewide that our company has made donations in support of education reform and we have openly indicated that is the case.

"Like our hometown newspaper and many citizens of North Idaho, we believe in education reform and we endorse Propositions 1, 2 and 3. Our donation to Education Voters of Idaho was intended to further the cause of education reform in Idaho, a cause we are proud to support.

"We particularly like the merit pay for our teachers. Our companies have long supported our local school bond issues and are strong supporters of providing the very best education for our kids. Great teachers, which Idaho has, are critical to that goal."
