Burglar pries off lock, steals from home

COEUR d'ALENE - A woman who left her home for an hour returned to find it had been burglarized.

The owner of the house in the 800 block of North Fifth Street told police she left around 4 p.m. Friday and returned a little after 5. She noticed items missing from inside the residence, so she immediately went outside and called police.

The victim, who was moving out of the home, said a ceiling fan and a drill were among some of the items taken during the burglary.

Police searched the home. A police report said someone entered the home by prying a padlock off a back door.
