Timberlake girls fall in state 3A opener

TWIN FALLS - MacKenzie Hammer's goal in the 60th minute stood up as the Marsh Valley Eagles beat the Timberlake Tigers 1-0 in the first round of the state 3A girls soccer tournament Thursday at the Sunway Soccer Complex.

"We didn't play a good game; we've had much better games," Timberlake coach Steve Michael said. "I don't know if it was the long trip down or what, but we came out flat and remained flat. We just couldn't get it going."

Timberlake (10-5-2) plays Fruitland (11-6-1) in a loser-out game today at 10 a.m. PDT.
