Eleanor Priano, 86

| October 16, 2012 9:00 PM

Eleanor Williams Priano was born Nov. 27, 1925, in Wardner, the daughter of Morris Williams, a hard rock miner at the Bunker Hill, and Minnie Jones Williams. She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1956 with her husband Phillip and her two children. For the last several years she has lived at the Terrace at Coeur d’Alene Homes.

Eleanor had a beautiful singing voice and sang throughout the area including a time in Sun Valley. During World War II she worked for the Bunker Hill shipping the lead from that mine. She loved to tell the story that the only bank in Idaho that didn’t go under during the depression was in Wardner because the miners didn’t feel the affects of that depressed time. She was a stay-at-home Mom but was busy in the family business, taught Sunday School at the Presbyterian Church, was a prize winning golfer and threw the best birthday parties ever. Her green thumb is famous as is her love of a beautiful sunset. She knew her sister would be the first person she would see in Heaven as she has missed her since her early death almost 60 years ago.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, in 1979. Her son, David and daughter, Rebecca would like to deeply thank everyone at Coeur d’Alene Homes for their genuine, loving care for their Mother who would often remind us that “Getting old is not for wimps.” Her sense of humor is just one thing we will all miss.

Eleanor’s memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at the Terrace at Coeur d’Alene Homes. You may visit Eleanor’s memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
