The OktoberFish Derby in Bayview on Lake Pend Oreille held Oct. 6-7 attracted 105 fishermen and women on 50 boats competing for the largest kamloops rainbow trout.
Organizers said there were many fish caught. The winners were:
• 1st, Mike Perry, Garfield Bay, 11 pounds, 3 ounces.
• 2nd, Rick McCorkle, Athol, 10 pounds, 3 ounces.
• 3rd, Rory Bergere, Spokane, 9 pounds, 6 ounces.
• 1st mackinaw went to Ken Olson of Coeur d'Alene with 11 fish weighing 32.3 pounds.
"It was beautiful weather with a lot of great people involved and the event went off flawlessly," said a press release.
Another aspect this year was a $2,000 donation from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game angler incentive program to target the mackinaw as well.
