SCARY: And rated R, too
Our local family-friendly theme park has taken a left-turn and I thought you should be aware. This time of year, Silverwood turns into Scarywood, which is a great idea to earn more revenue in the fall season. They recommend that you only come if you are 12 and over. I always thought that it was too frightening for younger children.
Well, surprise, surprise! My 16-year-old went with three of his friends the other night and they were shocked at the Rated-R things they observed. He told me there were all kinds of families with young children and this is why I thought you should be aware that Scarywood is not for families or anyone who chooses to not have filthy language or overt sexuality in their homes.
Here is what your kids will see if you choose to let them go: On the raft ride, there was a woman in a costume that has six bared breasts, with men wildly sucking on her breasts while she lay on the ground gyrating. As the raft floats by, she puts up her head and growls, “Want some of this?” On the train ride, every curse word is shouted repeatedly, including the F-bomb.
I’m not sure why Silverwood thinks it needs such disgusting behavior for entertainment. I went to Knott’s Scary Farm every year as a teen and enjoyed being frightened out of my wits — without having anything sexual or obscene shoved down my throat. I just thought you should know.
